Calculator inputs stay in your browser

The calculator application processes your entries on the page. It does not send those entries to a calculator server. You can use every calculator without remembering a tariff or saving a scenario.

Optional saves on this device

Choosing “Remember on this device” stores your selected label market, currency and unit price in this browser’s local storage. Choosing “Save on this device” stores the named scenario and its calculator inputs. The site keeps up to 20 scenarios. These records are not synced to an account or uploaded by this application.

Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see the saved data. Avoid personal information in scenario names, appliance names and source notes. Use “Market & tariff” in the header to clear this site’s saved tariff, scenarios and measurement journal, or delete individual saved entries. Export journal records you want to keep first. Clearing browser site data also removes them. Private browsing and storage restrictions can prevent saving.

Measurement journal and exports

The measurement journal calculates from readings you enter. Choosing to save keeps up to 100 observations in this browser profile, including appliance and monitor details, dates and times, counters, sample counts, programme, conditions and any entered currency, tariff or projection routine. Loading or editing a record does not upload it. Changes are retained only when you save or update the observation.

CSV downloads and printed reports include those entries and separately identified projections. Downloading creates a file on the device; choose where you retain or share it. Clearing the journal removes browser records and keeps current input fields, but does not delete downloaded files. Export important records before clearing browser storage.

Calculator transfers include the sample energy and dates with a shortened observation name and programme in a link fragment. Conditions and monitor notes are retained in the journal and exports. Review the link before sharing it, especially if you put personal information in the observation name or programme. An unknown price or routine stays blank for you to enter in the destination calculator.

Share links contain inputs

A generated link includes selected calculator inputs in the part after the # symbol, including any appliance names and source notes. The recipient’s browser reads that part of the link; it is not included in the normal page request to our hosting provider. A recipient, browser extension or service used to share the link can still read it. Treat the link as a disclosure of those entries.

A shared link does not change access permissions. Anyone who can open it may read its included inputs. Links restore inputs and recalculate them; they do not freeze a forecast or guarantee future prices.

Printing

Printing or saving a PDF uses your browser’s print dialog. The report includes active inputs, results, assumptions and references. Choose where that file is saved or shared.

Contact messages

When you submit the contact form, your browser sends your name, email address, message and any page or supporting information you include to Web3Forms for processing and delivery to the website’s contact inbox. This is separate from calculator use: the form does not read saved scenarios or attach calculator entries automatically. We use the details you provide to respond to questions and investigate corrections.

Web3Forms also processes technical information for delivery and abuse prevention. Its privacy policy explains retention, service providers and international processing. Messages may be processed outside your country. Avoid account numbers, private bills or unnecessary personal information.

Contact entries are not saved in this site’s local storage. They remain in the form while the page is open if submission fails or cannot be confirmed, and clear after a confirmed successful submission. To ask about a message you have submitted or request deletion, use the contact page.

Optional Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, traffic sources and how pages are used. It loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” Declining leaves the Google tag blocked, and every calculator and guide remains available. With JavaScript disabled, analytics does not load.

If allowed, Google receives page and engagement information, a cookie-based browser identifier and technical details about your browser and device. For pageview reporting, we leave extra query information and shared calculator inputs out of the page address and limit the referring address to the referring website. We do not send calculator inputs, saved scenario names, search text or contact messages as custom analytics events. Our analytics setup has advertising features and personalized advertising disabled.

We store your analytics choice in this browser’s local storage for up to 180 days, separately from your saved tariff, scenarios and measurement journal. If storage is blocked, your choice applies only to the current page. Google Analytics cookies are set for this website with a 180-day expiry that can be renewed by an allowed visit. Use “Analytics settings” in the footer to change your choice. Declining after allowing analytics removes our analytics cookies and reloads the page to stop the tag; it does not erase data already received by Google.

Google may process information outside your country. Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Browser privacy tools can also block analytics. Requests about previously collected information can be sent through our contact page.

If a changed analytics choice cannot be saved, we disable analytics for the current page without reloading and try to remove the earlier choice. If your browser also blocks removal, clear browser site data to remove the earlier choice before visiting another page.

Hosting and external links

Page requests pass through our hosting provider, which may process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser details and the requested page, to deliver and protect the website. This is separate from the calculator inputs and scenarios processed in your browser. We do not run advertising scripts or require a visitor account.

Links to government, utility and manufacturer sources open their websites, where their own privacy practices apply.
