Watt & Home is built and run by the Watt & Home Team in the USA. It is an independent project, with no company behind the website or separate editorial team.
Our aim is to make everyday appliance electricity costs easier to understand. We bring practical calculators and plain-language energy-label guides together so you can explore your own tariff, usage and purchase options.

- Understand US, UK and EU energy labels, including what an energy figure covers and why an efficiency letter alone cannot tell you your bill.
Each guide identifies the market it covers, so you can follow the label rules and energy information relevant to your appliance.
How we prepare the tools and guides
We use AI-assisted research and drafting, check cited sources and verify example arithmetic. Guides link to the relevant official authorities, product records and other identified references, with dates showing when those sources were checked. Read our editorial and source policy for how this work is handled.
The website is independent of government label programmes, utility companies and appliance manufacturers. Named model figures in worked examples come from their cited documents. Default inputs, tariffs and usage routines are illustrative unless a source is explicitly identified. We do not carry out independent appliance testing.
Our calculation methodology explains the formulas, units, rounding and costs included in each estimate. Source-check dates record past checks; they do not mean that every figure is updated automatically.
Your inputs and privacy
Calculator inputs are processed in your browser. Remembering a tariff or saving a scenario is optional and device-local, and you can use the tools without saving anything. Analytics is optional and loads only after you allow it. Our privacy page explains analytics, device storage, share links and contact messages.

Actual costs depend on your appliance, programme, usage, measurement conditions and electricity tariff. A calculated saving or payback period is an estimate based on assumptions.
